Our BADGE consists of the letters "A", "O" and "Π" superimposed on one another.
At the apex of the "A" is the ruby, our JEWEL.
Our FLOWER is the Jacqueminot Rose. Our founders chose this particular breed because its stem grows no thorns.
Our unofficial MASCOT is the Panda bear -- it's the only animal with no natural enemies.
The SHEAF OF WHEAT indicates usefulness in its harvest, and is found on the New Member Pin and the rings of the presidents and the international president. Translated into Greek, it gives us the title of our magazine, To Dragma.
Alpha Omicron Pi has only one COLOUR, cardinal. It is the color of the Fraternity flower, the ruby and the ribbon sometimes worn under the badge to welcome a new collegiate chapter.
Our international PHILANTHROPY is Arthritis Research and Juvenile Arthritis. For more information about how this disease affects women, men, and children, please visit
AOΠ is the only women's fraternity that does not use a crest. Where others groups might use a crest, we display the rose. Our founders felt that the beauty and simplicity of our badge possessed enough significance to stand alone. Crests are medieval and we are founded on Greek ideals, therefore they thought a crest would be inappropriate.
